You are . . .

Opening my mail, I saw a handwritten addressed envelope and reached for it. I have always loved a handwritten note. I glanced at the return address and did not immediately recognize the name.

The envelope had a little weight to it and I was very curious. As I pulled out the card, I saw that the cover was actually a magnet that read "You are so much sunshine to the square inch!" Even more intrigued, I opened the card to find a simple note that had a long-term impact on me. 

Dear Liz,

Thanks for taking the time to meet with me and hear about my product. Your smile and energy truly made my whole day. Please keep spreading your sunshine.

This happened over ten years ago and I still remember it clearly. Why? A person that I had a brief encounter with took a moment to magnify what she perceived as one of my attributes. It was kind and I needed to hear it. It inspired me and it stayed with me.

We are so quick to criticize or find fault, but imagine if we took a moment to magnify the positive in someone else. Imagine if we made it a habit to compliment, lift up and encourage those around us? 

Today, I encourage you to take a moment to spread positive vibes and hand out compliments with a smile. I promise you that it will make you feel good too!.
